Couple Smiling

Most people, at some point in their lives, encounter periods of difficulty, change and transition; when personal issues affect their work or relationships.  Families are under a great deal of stress in today’s world, more so today, than ever.  Seeking out therapy can be a difficult decision.  Recognizing the need for additional support is a sign of strength and courage.  Finding the right therapist, one that listens to your concerns, understands your challenges, and genuinely connects with you, can be difficult.

The focus of my work is to provide a warm, supportive environment, in which clients can develop coping strategies, problem solving skills, and confidence.  I am a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in counseling children and adolescents, individuals, couples and families in a non-judgmental and compassionate manner.  I collaborate with clients in coping with interpersonal, problematic relationships, family conflict, parent-child conflict, depression, anxiety and panic disorders, mood disorders, substance dependence/substance abuse, trauma, life transitions, and grief or loss issues.

My goal is to not only focus on symptom reduction, but to help clients to understand underlying issues that perpetuate dysfunctional patterns.  Therapy offers one the opportunity to explore why we choose self-defeating behaviors and how to make constructive and lasting changes in their lives.

I take a special interest in working with military families that are struggling with re-integration into family life after deployment.   Active military duty families are given a significantly reduced fee for services.
